🌊 A gentle touch… For days when you need the 🌊 A gentle touch… For days when you need the ease of a t shirt, but a little bit more considered. ⚓️ Meet the Sailor’s Smock, proudly made jn Norfolk by @yarmouth_oilskins the traditional creators of maritime workwear for over 100 years. Keeping it small but allowing for more space all senses. 🚜 Come and see how Jack from @funky_huts managed to position my new studio into a corner of our garden with the help of a lorry, crane and some very calm delivery men! The WINTERTON set 🌊 💙 I’ve had so many qu The WINTERTON set 🌊 💙 I’ve had so many questions about this set since @piavibekegrace wore the striped version at the @pom_london event last week! 🇬🇧 It is the most comfortable co-ord, knitted in the softest merino and OEKO-TEX cotton blend in the UK. The culottes are knitted in a slightly denser stitch which makes them very flattering around the tummy and hips, with an elasticated waist band. The drop sleeve on the T-shirt keeps you feeling fresh with a very faltering sleeve length that hits the elbow. ⚓️ The anchor motif on the pockets comes from an original “Cornish marriage pattern” that I have scaled up to make into a feature. 🌞 Mid Summer 🌞 🐑 And it’s too hot for 🌞 Mid Summer 🌞 🐑 And it’s too hot for wool - even for the sheep! ♻️ This is where the cycle begins: each summer the sheep are shorn and their fleeces are tuned into wool to knit my British made jumpers. The process of shearing, cleaning, carding, spinning, sometimes dying and then knitting takes over a year and each part of the process requires skill and knowledge unique to this fibre. 🧶 Wool has always been produced in the UK, since early people learnt how to felt it into shawls and rugs to keep themselves warm. It’s what made Britain one of wealthiest countries in the world and where so much of our heritage come from. 💚 I often think that the best things in life are also the simplest, and this is certainly the case with wool. It comes from the sheep in the fields that surround us and needn’t even leave the country to be turned into the most beautiful, sustainable jumpers and cardigans to be treasured for years. 💙🤍 Favourite moment? ✨ Yesterday I took p 💙🤍 Favourite moment? ✨ Yesterday I took part in the most magical event hosted and organised by @pom_london and @astylelabcompany . 🤩I was so happy to be invited to join such a fantastic curation of small, female founded brands, surrounded by a really lovely bunch of supportive women. 🤍 I couldn’t possibly pick a favourite moment because there were SO many, but I’ll admit I felt a real sense of achievement when I watched the models (including the lovely @piavibekegrace) walk down the catwalk wearing pieces from my collection. 💙 We so rarely get the chance to stop and appreciate what we’ve achieved in our work, we’re always thinking about the next step, collection, thing on the “list”, but yesterday reminded me of how important it is to pause and enjoy the ride!
