The Teddy Crew Neck Gansey Jumper

A modern take on a Norfolk classic. The Teddy Gansey is crafted in Nottinghamshire from either 100% British wool (in the Navy Blue) or 100% authentic Shetland wool — a highly sought-after yarn from sheep raised on the Shetland Isles. Soft yet durable, this wool naturally softens, developing character with wear and washing, much like your favourite pair of jeans.

This limited-edition knit is part of my very first Menswear Capsule Collection. Designed as a longer, slimmer version of the Teddy crew neck Gansey, it’s the perfect piece to reach for when the coastal breeze picks up.

Featuring a neat round neck in a chunky 2×2 ribbed trim, you can wear it over a shirt collar for a smarter look, or over a T-shirt for a more casual feel. The top half is knitted in the traditional “hailstone” stitch taken directly from original Norfolk Ganseys, finished with a neat central shoulder seam and chunky ribbed trims. Reverse knit side panels nod to the heritage patterns, while the simple silhouette lets the beauty of the stitches shine.

• Blue Marl — 100% authentic Shetland wool, rich in colour variations unique to the Isles
• Blood Orange — 100% authentic Shetland wool, bold and vibrant
• Navy Blue — 100% British wool, a soft blend of Bluefaced Leicester and Masham fleeces, graded and certified by British Wool

Each jumper is intentionally timeless, combining heritage stitches with a versatile, contemporary cut.

The name pays tribute to Teddy “Lux” Craske, a Sheringham fisherman and lifeboatman of the 1950s, who worked the North Sea alongside his brother and father.
