From the Olive and George collection, drawing inspiration from the Norfolk Fishermen’s Gansey jumpers of the 19th and early 20th centuries, Betty is a crew neck chunky knitted cardigan with roomy proportions, an original “hailstone” stitch on the top half of the body and cosy oversized bucket pockets.

Made from super soft 100% British wool and knitted in Nottinghamshire.

Betty is available in three sizes: XS/S, S/M and M/L and in three colours: Milk White, Natural Oatmeal and True Navy Blue and is trimmed with sustainable buttons.

Betty Martin was a Gansey knitter from Sheringham, Norfolk who knitted many of the fishermen’s Gansey jumpers. Her signature stitches were “chevrons” and “meshes” or fishing nets.

This generous, boxy fitting crew neck cardigan comes in three sizes: XS/S fits women’s size 8-10, S/M fits women’s size 10-12  and M/L fits women’s size 12/14 or men’s size S/M. The roomy proportions with straight hem, mean this style can be effortlessly pulled on over dresses. trousers or dungarees when there’s a chill in the air. Worn on it’s own with a scarf on dry crips days or under a coat in mid-winter. Trimmed with a chunky ribbed placket and neck trim. The Oatmeal and Milk White colours have recycled paper buttons and the Navy colour has corozo nut buttons.

Hannah wears size XS/S and is a size 10 (UK) and is 5″6  tall.

XS/S length from high point shoulder to hem at side seam 59cm. Width across chest 61 cm. Across shoulders 64.5cm.

Another beautiful garment. I have the S/M which is perfect, as I am tall and skinny, which gives a loose fit.
