The Winterton T shirt in darkest Navy Blue features a knitted anchor motif on the over-sized patch pocket. Made in England from the finest 54% merino and 46% OEKO-TEX certified cotton yarn. . This knit is lighter in weight than the WEST group, to match the change in season from Spring into Summer, so the weight is more like a compact cotton jersey or sweatshirt, but knitted in this special blend for comfort and memory (it won’t loose its shape).
The fit is light and boxy with a clean, crew neck collar and sloped shoulders. It is slightly shorter in length than my usual knits – perfection worn with higher waisted trousers like the Winterton Culottes as part of a “beach pyjama” set. Ideal for “après swim” or holiday travel due to the softness and warmth of the natural fibres – a sophisticated alternative to the tracksuit. The sleeves finish just above the elbow, making them flattering for all arm shapes. The trims are knitted in a deep tubular, reminiscent of a traditional T shirt. The patch pocket is oversized and features a tonal knitted anchor motif, drawn from the brand’s nautical heritage.
This group is named after an original Gansey jumper which was kitted in Winterton, Norfolk by “Cazey” Goffin and featured the “anchor” motif on its top half.
Description
The yarn for this style has been spun to order in Italy from a very high quality Oeko-Tex certified Pima cotton (46%) and mulesing free extrafine merino (54%) blend, then knitted in Nottinghamshire. It is tightly twisted to minimise the risk of pilling and ensure colourfastness. The high merino wool content means it won’t loose its shape over time, but it will spring back when steamed or washed. It comes in two sizes: S/M (to fit a women’s size 10-12) and M/L (to fit a women’s size 12-14).
Available in Dark Navy Blue.
MEASUREMENTS:
Size S/M measures 57 cm long x 60cm wide through the body from chest to welt and 51cm across shoulders.
Size M/L measures 59cm long x 63cm wide through the body from chest to welt and 52.5cm across shoulders
It has a straight body and sleeves that stop just above the elbow length sleeves. The collar, hem and cuffs are all knitted in a deep tubular stitch.
Model Lydia is 5’6′ and wears the S/M. Order your true size for a slightly slouchy fit.
