Winterton striped T Shirt

The Winterton T shirt comes in a nautical stripe with a heritage anchor motif on the over-sized patch pocket. Made in England from the finest 54% merino and 46% OEKO-TEX certified cotton yarn. .  This knit  is lighter in weight than the WEST group, to match the change in season from Spring into Summer, so the weight is more like a compact cotton jersey or sweatshirt, but knitted in this special blend for comfort and memory (it won’t loose its shape).

The fit is light and boxy with a clean, crew neck collar and sloped shoulders (so the stripes match up along the shoulder seam). It is slightly shorter in length than my usual knits – perfection worn with higher waisted trousers like the Winterton Culottes or shorts. The sleeves finish just above the elbow, making them flattering for all arm shapes. The trims are knitted in a deep tubular, reminiscent of a traditional T shirt. The patch pocket is oversized and features the knitted anchor motif, to create an embossed effect as a subtle nod to its nautical heritage.

This group is named after an original Gansey jumper which was kitted in Winterton, Norfolk by Cazey Goffin and featured the “anchor” motif on its top half.
