Salter Cardigan

“by the morning it had turned even colder and the sky over the land was ink-dark and heavy with rain, although out to sea it was clear and blue and a line of sociable fat white clouds drifted above the horizon.”
Threads – The Delicate Life of John Craske. Julia Blackburn.
Inspired by the luxurious craftsmanship of classic Italian knitwear, mixed with iconic Norfolk heritage stitches, the Salter Cardigan is knitted in Italy from the softest Peruvian Alpaca yarn.
Available in two sizes and three colours, this extremely soft cardigan can be worn on its own, or layered in place of a jacket to create a day-to-evening outfit. The natural drape of the yarn flatters the body and gives it an easy elegance which works perfectly on occasions when you want to feel a little bit more refined. The fitted shoulders on this piece give it a sleek silhouette.
This is the highest quality 100% Peruvian alpaca that comes from a mill which has been supporting local families through its Social Responsibility Programs for nearly 60 years. The yarn has been certified as “OEKO TEX standard 100″and the natural shades of Toffee Apple and Hailstone Grey are undyed – meaning they consume far less water than other colours.
This group has been fully fashioned in a traditional fisherman’s rib with a herringbone motif at the cuffs, and front shoulder detailing reminiscent of classic Italian knitwear of the 1960s. The cardigan has two neat patch pockets and is trimmed with sustainable horn buttons.
The group is named after George “Salter” Farrow a Sheringham fisherman who is fondly remembered for claiming to have been chased in his boat by a giant seal!
Description
This neatly fitting cardigan comes in two sizes: s/m (UK size 8-10) and m/l (UK size 12-14). The shoulders fit neatly and the V neck is low cut but high enough to be worn with a camisole. The sleeves are set in neatly and are a regular length with a ribbed cuff which pulls in to create structure. The patch pockets are proportionate to the body. This piece looks great belted to create a waistline.
