The Charl West Spring weight Gansey vest is knitted in the highest quality merino and organic cotton yarn. It has fashion back shoulders, a neat but open crew neck and boxy silhouette which makes it feel light and airy for spring and summer. The arm hole is dropped which makes it easy to wear over dresses and blouses or on it’s own as it has a neatly fitting arm hole, flatteringly shaped up to a “v” to elongate the bicep. The authentic Norfolk “Herringbone” design has been enlarged and re-positioned to just above the rib and continues uninterrupted around the bottom half of the jumper. The West Gansey group take their name from the West family, a four-generation fishing family from Sheringham, Norfolk.
Description
The yarn for this style has been spun to order from a very high quality Oeko-tex certified organic Pima cotton (46%) and RWS certified extrafine merino (54%) blend, then knitted in Nottinghamshire. it is tightly twisted to minimise the risk of pilling and colourfast. The high merino wool content means it won’t loose its shape over time, but it will spring back into shape when steamed or washed. It comes in two sizes S/M (to fit a women’s size 10-12) and M/L (to fit a women’s size 12-14). This style has a deliberately boxy fit so that it is light and airy for the British spring-summer months and can be worn layered over a T shirt or worn next to the skin due to its softness. The perfect mixture of warmth and cosiness, designed to be pulled over the shoulders when the breeze picks up or the sun hides behind a cloud!
MEASUREMENTS:
Size S/M measures 55 cm in length and 53cm wide at the chest, 48cm wide at hem, 47cm across shoulders.
Size M/L measures 57cm in length and 56cm wide at the chest, 51cm wide at welt and 48.5cm across shoulders.
It has a dropped shoulder, a ribbed arm hole and neck trim which are both knitted in a 1×1 rib.
Available in Cream, Royal Blue or Dark Navy Blue.
