Fishermen’s Socks
£35.00
My Fishermen’s Socks are knitted in Nottinghamshire from certified 100% British wool or 100% Shetland wool (Sugar Plum).
Knitted from the leftover wool from my cardigans and jumpers. The ribbed section is knitted in the base colour – Heather Pink, Sugar Plum or Navy Blue, with the toes and heels knitted in a second colour and the ribbed opening in a third. These are the ultimate “Make Do And Mend” item, in much the same way as the original fishermen’s socks which were knitted by the fishermen’s wives.
All colours are knitted with 10% nylon to make them more durable and to ensure they last longer for repeat wear.
Perfect for keeping out the cold on a coastal walk or with clogs or sandals in autumn.
Description
Available in 3 colourways and two sizes. Size small (which fit shoes sizes 4-7 ) and size medium ( shoe size 8-11). Unbelievably soft and warm with contrast toes, heels and cuffs.
These socks can be re-worn on alternate days and then hand washed and dried over a heated clothes airer or radiator. Wool has anti-bacterial, heat regulating qualities which means you can wash these socks less frequently than other fibres.
